Tungsten alloy aircraft weight application
Flight control system
Tungsten alloy weights are usually used to optimize the flight control performance, such as rudder, elevator and ailerons, have a greater advantage than other traditional materials such as steel or lead.
Rotor blades
Helicopter rotor blades require the best balance. Tungsten alloy can be installed in an imbalance in the location of a single leaf in the manufacturing process, such as in helicopter balancer.
Propeller
Tungsten alloy weights can be loaded fail-safe device, in order to avoid the problem of speeding.
Inertial system
Tungsten alloy can be loaded to control the rotation of the gyro flywheel to store kinetic energy. Tungsten alloy used in this gyroscope has two main purposes:
1) To adjust the center of gravity of the triangle.
2) To adjust the beam of the laser oscillation frequency.

Tungsten is superior to lead in the counterweights
The density of tungsten is about 1.8 times than lead, which means that the tungsten is the size of lead about half of the same quality.
Pine car is so small, it is important to place the exact location, you need to determine its weight. Single tungsten cylinder at the top (0.5 oz) weight close to the bottom of the three zinc cyclinders (0.75 ounces) is the same as when your car is designed to give you more space, because you can be placed in a small area of high weight, more precise with weights.

Reasons for using tungsten alloy ball counterweights
The high proportion of tungsten alloys, including high-density alloy, it is made of nickel, copper, cobalt, molybdenum and chromium, tungsten matrix (W content is 85-99%). This is the so-called high-density alloy, because its density is as high as 16.5 ~ 19.0g/cm3. It also has a high proportion of high-intensity ray absorption ability, high thermal conductivity coefficient of thermal expansion, good electrical conductivity, and good weldability and workability characteristics, the proportion of which is usually 16.5 to 18.75g/cm3; tensile strength of 700 to 1000 MPa; ray absorption capacity was 30-40% higher than the lead; five times the thermal conductivity of mold steel; and one-third of the coefficient of thermal expansion. In view of its outstanding features, high-density alloy is widely used in various industries.

Aircraft Counterbalances
Tungsten alloy counterbalance weights for fixed and rotary wing aircraft have been used for many years. WHA weights, unlike lead which creeps under its own weight at room temperature, can be securely fastened to aerostructures. In contrast to DU weights, WHA weights are free from SCC concerns, special licensing requirements, environmental issues, and the negative public response to having many pounds of radioactive material routinely flying overhead. WHA weights are typically machined from near net shape blanks to precise tolerances and provided with a protective coating to the customer's specification. This is an application where a coating is highly recommended to resist corrosion from temperature and moisture cycling, de-icing fluids, aggressive aircraft cleaning fluids, and galvanic contact with fasteners and the airframe. Class 1 or 2 WHAs are most commonly used.

Advantages of Tungsten Alloy As Counterweights
Balance weights or Counterweights for yachts, sailboats, submarines etc.
Advantages of tungsten alloy as counterweights:
- High density up to 18.5 g/cm3.
- up to 65% denser than Lead.
- up to 130% denser than Steel.
- Mechanical properties to suit either dynamic or static locations.
- Weakly ferro magnetic.
- Non-magnetic, if specifically required.
- Alternative to Lead.
- Non-Toxic.
- Corrosion resistant.

Tungsten Alloy Sailboats Counterweights
Tungsten alloy weights used for the design of aircraft control surfaces, the aircraft's rotor blades, guidance platforms and vibration. To vibration, for example, tungsten alloy weights used in the rotating system, such as automobile tires, to reduce vibration. Vibration measurements do not need any weight can determine the bearing point. Tungsten alloy counterweight on the opposite bearing point to balance the load, to reduce or eliminate the vibration.
